ExxonMobil Upstream Integrated Solutions Co. and ExxonMobil Chemical Co. have together joined NEx: An ACI Center of Excellence for Nonmetallic Building Materials as a Gold Supporting Member. They will have a hands-on role in carrying out core NEx functions: Standards, Specifications and Professional Development; Technical Committee Acceleration; Plant Audit/Certification; Research and Development; plus, Advocacy and Technical Support.

The ExxonMobil Corp. divisions have a commitment parallel to NEx initiatives as they work to advance and adopt innovative technologies to ensure nonmetallic building materials are as sustainable as they are of high quality. “Our mission [is] to create a future where everyone has the knowledge needed to use nonmetallic building materials effectively to meet the demands of a changing world,” says NEx Executive Director Jerzy Zemajtis. The Center looks to draw additional partners from government agencies, technical societies, standards bodies and manufacturers, he adds.  —  www.nonmetallic.org
